I updated the 2007 Fireworks page (link in menu) with a full list of all the fireworks we bought for this year. We have a total of 201 pieces to light/set off and spent $214. Now the 4th just needs to get here. I’ll get pictures of the whole set later.
Today I was a little bored (not really, but wanted to avoid my last bit of work for the day) so I took some pictures of the Fireworks we have bought already. Here they are in my Picasa Web Album. More to come.
I am a big FireWorks fan. I love watching them, listening to them, buying them, but most of all, I love setting them off. I’m not sure why but I look forward to buying and setting off Fireworks all year long. The time has finally come though as the 4th of July is just over a week away (lets hope the rain subsides for the day and we get a nice clear sky). We normally go kinda easy on Fireworks by only spending about $40 - $60 in past years however this year we (I actually mean I, as nobody else seems to be as excited as I am) wanted to go bigger and better. Our goal was set at $200 on Fireworks for this 4th of July. This past Saturday we headed just outside of town (near Medicine Park) to purchase our first batch from a co-worker of my moms who runs a stand every year. We bought a big kit called The King with 28 different Fireworks for $80+. Then we went ahead and bought some smaller things mainly for the kids. Every year I like to buy a finale. Nothing major just something to end with. The year before last I had an Old Glory Red/White/Blue Saturn Missile (200 shot) as my finale. This year we went a little bigger with a 300 Shot Saturn Missile. I am gonna set it off with 2 artillery shells. So far we have spent $122. We are hoping to go back to the stand (let him restock) this Saturday to purchase another $80-$100. I’m thinking maybe one of the $20-$30 family packs and some more minor things to total it all up, plus of course some more stuff for my 2 kids, after all that is why I do it (or at least thats my excuse for spending that much money on them).
