About

My name is James Fleeting and I’m a 23 year old living in Wichita Falls, Texas. I got married to Melissa on December 7, 2007 and have two kids; my son Chase David who is 5 years old and my daughter Rachael Leigh who is 3 years old. I am currently a full-time freelance web designer and developer which I have been doing for over two years. In July 2008 I will be leaving freelancing in favor of an office job still doing design and development. I have been doing web design for about 7 years and php/sql developing for 3 years. I am involved in the opensource community both with my projects and helping on others (reporting bugs, beta testing, plugins/mods, etc).

Current Setup

After being a long time Windows user I made the switch to my first Mac in February of 2008. I have enjoyed every day of it and will be moving my wife and kids over to Macs this year as well.
iMac: 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB Memory, 500GB Internal HDD, 300GB External HDD (Time Machine Backup), Apple Wire Keyboard, Wireless Mighty Mouse (not used, as I prefer the Logitech MX). I also run a 22″ Dell WS-LCD for dual-monitors.
Work Apps: Adobe Photoshop, TextMate, CSSEdit, Transmit, VectorDesigner, Pixelmator, Versions, Audacity, and Final Cut Express.
Favorite Mac Apps: CoverSutra, 1Password, Twitterrific, Skitch, Delicious Library 2, AppZapper, and CamTwist.

This year I will also be purchasing my kids a Mac Mini to replace their PC and my wife a 15″ MacBook Pro to replace her 15″ Sony Laptop (Vista). I plan to get myself a 17″ MacBook Pro in February of next year.

Hobbies?

I also currently work for Dragon Productions at The Railhead Saloon in Lawton, OK. The Railhead is a rock/metal bar with live bands on the weekends which I run lights and sound for. I started learning lights and sound in high school and have since grown an interest in it. I have only been working for DPS since June of 2006 but have learned a lot in running sound for live bands. Since doing live sound/lights for awhile I am wanting to move into the studio/recording side of it. I haven’t just yet but that is the next step for me.

For a taste of what I listen to check out my Last.fm Profile. I also love going to shows. There is just something about LIVE music that nothing can beat. I try to see as many concerts as I can.
