World of Warcraft

Last week I went ahead and bought World of Warcraft. I had been wanting to give it a try for a long time but never did. I’ve been a huge fan of City of Villains/City of Heroes for awhile, so I didn’t really want to add another monthly fee to my list. Plus I never really had a video card to support it, or at least not smooth. So, since I got my v2 upgrade this month and a new video card, I bought the game. I finally installed it last night and played for a little bit and so far its awesome. The graphics, music, people, quests are all great. I haven’t gotten to far into the game yet as I only played for about an hour or so but I plan to spend some time this week putting in some quality time. I also haven’t picked a realm I’m gonna stick with, so if your a WoW Gamer let me know what realm you are in and how it is. As of right now nobody else I know plays the game.

Wii Update #3

Update #3:
The Wii has surpassed any and all expectations that I had for it. I spent hours playing Wii Sports (just an awesome game to play with friends and to show off the motion sensing). Zelda: TP is amazing. I’ve become addicted to it. Rented it yesterday and now hope to buy it very very soon (real soon). The graphics are amazing, controls are awesome, just perfect. I just got back from Wal-Mart where I bought Excite Truck. I haven’t played it yet, but hope to pop it in in a few minutes. You can see more pics at the Flickr link below.

Update #2.5:
I just posted three a few pictures of my Wii box. You can see them here, Wii @ Flickr. More pics to come, batteries died. :)
I just took a few more pics of the system and controllers. Pics of the game play is next. I have Wii Sports right now and just got done renting Zelda.

I went to Wal-Mart at about 7am and just got home a few minutes ago with my Nintendo Wii. I was third in line of about 60+ (Wal-Mart only had 20 to sell). It was an exciting but very tired day. My feet hurt, I don’t ever want to spend that much time at Wal-Mart again. However, I got the Wii and am getting ready to take it out of the box for the first time. I do have the cam and will be taking lots of pics soon and posting them. Update soon.

Wii [The Movie]

This was posted on Wii-Vo earlier and is just awesome. A group of guys got together to make a Movie Trailer for Nintendo’s Wii. I have to say its one of the best ‘fan created’ video for a video game or system. The music just fits perfect. Check it out below and get ready for the Wii.

btw; I will be heading down to my local Wal-Mart at 5am tomorrow to wait in line for the Wii. So, lets hope I can get one. Also, no posts until Sunday morning and it should be a bunch of Wii pictures and comments.

On to the video;

Virtual NES [Edit #2]

A few days ago I came across a site called vNES which allows you to play tons of NES games from your browser. Although I do have a decent collection of Nintendo Roms (NES/SNES/N64), there are several games I don’t have that are on their. I have actually been addicted to Kirby Adventures recently.

Edit #1:
It seems as though the vNES site is down. The message says its been “Taken Down Until Further Notice”. I don’t know if this means bandwidth/hosting problems or maybe legal problems with Nintendo as the link for the site has been popping up all over Wii Sites/Forums as a way to ‘pass time until the Wii’. I’ll post if it goes back online.

Edit #2
The site is back up, it seems like it was legal problems but with his host instead.

Nintendo Wii

I have been looking at and researching the Nintendo Wii for awhile now. I have been drawn to it. Not only because of the new ‘Wii-mote’ style controller and the new motion sensing aspect of gaming but also because I have always been a Nintendo Fanboy and just love Mario, Pilot Wings, Zelda (of course), Metroid, etc. I’ve had all the Nintendo systems besides the GameCube and DS. I didn’t get the GameCube so I could have the Xbox. Which don’t get the wrong the Xbox was amazing. Xbox Live was a whole new level of gaming that I had never really been apart of before. However, I still missed having a Nintendo (still loving playing N64). So, this year since the Nintendo Wii is coming out (November 19 to be exact) I have made plans to buy one. Money is in the bank (well more the half, but i’ll have the rest) and i’m ready to go. I’ll end up going to Wal-Mart extra early (as I won’t even go into detail what all I went through on the Xbox 360 release date to not get one). One thing that should help is where I live more people are interested in the PS3 (or no games) as Lawton isn’t really a town where people have money and next to nothing for gaming. I’m hoping that with the PS3 being launched two days before, it will ease up the crowd for the Wii at Wal-Mart (which is about the only place who doesn’t allow pre-order).

So, lets hope that come the 19th I will be a proud owner of the Nintendo Wii. Btw; for those who don’t know what the Wii is, go read the Nintendo Wii website here or watch some of the awesome videos of people playing it.
