A quick tour around Lucy Park where Falls Fest is held each year. This is our second year going to Falls Fest.
There was a BMX Demo going on by Flat Monkey BMX. This was just their warm-up stuff and we didn’t make it back over there for their full show.
The kids did some crafts at the Kids Corner before eating dinner and grabbing a spot for some music.
Wade Bowen was the opening act. The camera is jumping around so much because my daughter didn’t understand the concept of sitting still while I’m filming.
The Lost Trailers headlined the night with a great fireworks display.
Wanted to shoot a quick video as we are getting our living setup after moving. Not finished as we are looking at replacing the couch with a smaller one and chairs from Ikea to open the room a little. But this is the media side of it at least.
More videos and blogs are coming trust me. Between the move and getting settled at DigiMedia, it has been a rough few weeks. Things should be calming down next week and updates will be back, including my new foray into Ruby.
Next weekend I will be attending the Lone Star Ruby Conference in Austin, Texas. My work, DigiMedia, is sending 5 of us down there from Thursday to Saturday night. I am glad to have the chance to go and hear some panels on Ruby, Merb, and Rails. I am still new to Ruby and Rails but have been learning a lot of getting ready to write my first Rails app soon. I haven’t looked at merb yet but need to start as the next big project at work will use merb. I still have a lot to learn on Ruby but am looking forward to learning it and attending more conferences in the area.
This will be my first conference on any subject so I’m looking forward to it that much more. The other guys all know Ruby and have been using it for a little while now so I’m the newb of the bunch, but that is alright with me as I love learning and get excited over it. I remember when I first touched css and then when I first started messing around with php several years ago. I will of course be shooting video, in fact we are buying a Flip cam in a few days, so I plan to take it to try it out. It will actually be for my 5 year old son, but I’ll do some testing on it first.

We are painting the living room and the master bedroom before moving into our new house. Most of the painting will take place this weekend. A quick Me Today while painting this morning. The green that we picked for the living room turned out really nice. It will look much better after we get the trim painted white though.
