Last night we took it pretty easy. We tried a new mexican place for dinner, The Jalapeno Tree, which wasn’t that bad considering I’m not much on mexican food. We took the kids to Chuck E Cheese’s to let them play for awhile. This year I didn’t purchase fireworks instead we went to Sheppard AFB to watch their Freedom Fest ‘08 Firework Display. There were a few hundred other people shooting off their own fireworks as well which made for a great night. Overall it wasn’t a bad 4th of July. A few pictures are on my flickr account.
Well today is the 4th of July. Basically my favorite holiday of the year (with Thanksgiving second). I love to cookout one but more then that I love Fireworks. Don’t ask why but I look forward to Fireworks all year. As i’ve posted before this year is out first that we actually spent a decent amount of money on Fireworks. The first day we bought some we spent $114. Then we went back and spentabout $92. Then yesterday I just had to go back and get a 500Gram so we spent about 60. So, over all we spent about $266 on Fireworks. Its alot but honestly not nearly enough. So, I look forward to next year as well. Our plans are to head out to the lake to cook some hamburgers and hotdogs and wait for dark and then light our fireworks (over 250 pieces to light). We have some rain chances (like it has rained all month long) but they aren’t much so we are hoping for a good 4th of July for the weather. Continue reading »
I updated the 2007 Fireworks page (link in menu) with a full list of all the fireworks we bought for this year. We have a total of 201 pieces to light/set off and spent $214. Now the 4th just needs to get here. I’ll get pictures of the whole set later.
Today I was a little bored (not really, but wanted to avoid my last bit of work for the day) so I took some pictures of the Fireworks we have bought already. Here they are in my Picasa Web Album. More to come.
I am a big FireWorks fan. I love watching them, listening to them, buying them, but most of all, I love setting them off. I’m not sure why but I look forward to buying and setting off Fireworks all year long. The time has finally come though as the 4th of July is just over a week away (lets hope the rain subsides for the day and we get a nice clear sky). We normally go kinda easy on Fireworks by only spending about $40 - $60 in past years however this year we (I actually mean I, as nobody else seems to be as excited as I am) wanted to go bigger and better. Our goal was set at $200 on Fireworks for this 4th of July. Continue reading »
