Railhead Equip

Most of you know that on the weekends (most weekends anyways) I work at The Railhead Saloon (a local rock/metal club) running lights/sound for bands. I wanted to take a few pictures of our setup there as a few people have asked what equip we use. I only took a few pics from inside our sound booth but will take pictures of our lights, strobes, fog machines, stage, amps, etc at some point. For now here are the EQ’s, Lightboard (we actually use 3 light boards) and the Soundboard (24 channel). They are in my Picasa Web Album. I’ll get more pictures later on.

FireWorks / 4th of July

I updated the 2007 Fireworks page (link in menu) with a full list of all the fireworks we bought for this year. We have a total of 201 pieces to light/set off and spent $214. Now the 4th just needs to get here. I’ll get pictures of the whole set later.

Today I was a little bored (not really, but wanted to avoid my last bit of work for the day) so I took some pictures of the Fireworks we have bought already. Here they are in my Picasa Web Album. More to come.

I am a big FireWorks fan. I love watching them, listening to them, buying them, but most of all, I love setting them off. I’m not sure why but I look forward to buying and setting off Fireworks all year long. The time has finally come though as the 4th of July is just over a week away (lets hope the rain subsides for the day and we get a nice clear sky). We normally go kinda easy on Fireworks by only spending about $40 - $60 in past years however this year we (I actually mean I, as nobody else seems to be as excited as I am) wanted to go bigger and better. Our goal was set at $200 on Fireworks for this 4th of July. Continue reading »

What? A little rain?

*Updated June 23, 2007* I took a few pictures today as our front yard and porch start flooding again. I posted them here. We had to drive across town just to get home to put the sump pump out there (lets hope it helps) and the roads were so bad. We passed several stalled cars and could see the water up above the bottom of some cars doors. The creeks are overflowing yet again and no where for the rain to go.

Well it has been raining alot for the past month (as in about 2inches day before yesterday and even more last night). On top of that I’ve been reading stories in the paper and watching on the news that hundreds of houses around the area (really a few hundred) have been flooding. The lakes are flooded (they have had the flood gates open for awhile), our creeks in the area are flooding the streets causing them to be blocked off. Well we have been fine about it until last week when the house flooded for the first time in my kids room, hallway, and front living room. So, after alot of clean up it rained again night before last and we woke up yet again (after losing power for about 3 hours or so) with another flood in the house. Then again this morning the rooms were flooded again. That is three times in the past two weeks. However the water from last night/this morning was really bad. We sucked up so much water, I couldn’t believe. You stepped in the kids room and water would just splash up it was like a puddle you could see it… We got the sump pump working (after hunting around for a spare part at the hardware stores, which everbody was out due to everybody needing one) and since its suppose to rain the next two days and all next week, we hope that it will help the problem (which is flooding in our court yard)… So, the lack of updates around here has mostly been due to work (just got my photography client online, still working on a meeting with El Chico’s Catering, and just got hired for monthly maintenance on the LawtonSoccer site, it was just suppose to be a design only, but the guy doesn’t know as much about xhtml/css as he thought). I just hopes it stops raining for the 4th of July as its my favorite holiday of the year (2nd is Thanksgiving, I love me some turkey and stuffing). We normally spend about $60 on fireworks and head to the lake along with a few hundred people to shoot them off (only two spots legal in the area to shoot them off). This year we hope to spend about $200 or so on them… Will be taking pictures and videos, so look for them (if the weather works with us and doesn’t storm it out, if it does, i’m setting them off in the street).
