New Years Resolution

I had plans to post my resolutions yesterday but ended up spending some time with the family and visiting the Fantasy of Lights at MSU (you can watch the video in the last post). I normally don’t really have resolutions but this year I have several and plan to keep them all. Well lets get to it.
My first resolution is to Blog 365. I’ve noticed a lot of people are going to try to Blog 365 (or 366 as its a leap year) and I also plan to post a blog or video every day for 2008. Most will be videos but some will be blogs. I’ve tried to blog more in the past but with do videos as well it should be easy to complete this goal.
Second resolution goes along with Blog 365 and thats to post more vlogs. I’ve wanted to do more videos and have done a few but plan to step it up a lot. Not only more videos but also Me Todays. I will getting my iMac within a few weeks and having the iSight will make it easy to do quick Me Todays. I’m also looking at webcams for the laptop as we plan to lifecast a little for our family (as we no longer live in the same city as them). I’m not going to make this blog all videos but plan to have more videos then blogs.
Third resolution is to continue to grow my client base through the year and increase my freelance income (would like to double it). This also shouldn’t be that hard as I had a good year in 2007 for clients but due to some demanding and bigger projects for clients I had to spend time on projects that didn’t exactly get me the money it should have. Things will be changing a lot for me and freelancing this year.
Fourth resolution is to read more. I’m not much of a ‘book’ reader. I spend hours each week reading blogs, watching your videos, and of course reading to expand my knowledge of web languages. I would like to finish a few of the Dirk Pitt novels in 2008. This is a resolution I’ve set before but never really attempted it much.
Fifth resolution is to spend more time with my family and off the internet. As a freelancer I spend enough time on my computer but I also spend way to much time on it when I should be with my family. Of course being in a new city is nice as there are plenty of events that we have plans to attend with the kids (such as Disney Playhouse Live in a few weeks). We are also planning our first actual family vacation this year (sometime over the summer). It should be a nice year for the family and our first full year in Texas.
My sixth and last resolution is to drop some weight and stay healthy. I’ve been overweight for awhile. Of course some is to blame on freelancing as I work at home and we eat out at least once a day (sometimes twice). Lots of fast food and restaurants which is nice but also doesn’t help with eating healthy. On top of all that I’m pretty lazy on most days. My goal is to drop about 65lbs during the year (more if I can). I really need to lose about 100lbs to be at an ‘ideal weight’ but as its going to be hard enough to change my lifestyle I think about 60 will do.
Those are my resolutions for 2008. They are all within reach and this year should be a great year.
